NORTHAMPTON — A selection committee has chosen three finalists for the job of principal at Ryan Road Elementary School, Superintendent Portia Bonner announced Tuesday.

The finalists are Rebecca LeBeau, the current interim principal at Ryan Road; Jessica Nardizzi, the assistant principal/acting principal at Pelham Elementary School; and Maria Williams, a teacher in Hartford public schools who worked as an assistant principal in Springfield’s public schools for 13 years.

LeBeau is a graduate of Springfield College with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a master’s degree in education. She worked in the Northampton school district for 12 years as P.E. teacher, lead teacher and P.E. department chair at the elementary level.

Nardizzi has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wheaton College, a master of social work degree from New York University and a certificate of advanced graduate study in school administration policy and planning from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.

Williams obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master of education degree in early childhood education from Westfield State University, and received a second master’s degree in organization and leadership from Endicott College. She is in a doctoral program focusing on curriculum and instruction.

Former Principal Karen Albano moved on to a new position at Springfield Technical Community College in March, the superintendent’s office said.

The selection committee interviewed six candidates out of 15 applicants, and chose the three finalists to move on to a second round of interviews, school walk-through and community forum.

Families and community members will have an opportunity to meet the candidates Friday, April 26, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the school library
